Mark A. Preston, Retired
Mark retired from practice in 2021 after many years of dedication to providing quality, compassionate, legal advice and assistance to clients from all walks of life. He provided legal services in many areas, including estate planning and administration, real estate and business transactions, and civil litigation.
He primarily handled personal injury cases, and he defended hundreds of people in automobile, premises and other accident lawsuits.
In addition to the private practice of law, Mark served the public as an assistant to multiple elected Chillicothe Law Directors, and he prosecuted many cases in the Chillicothe Municipal Court and has provided civil representation to the City in matters pertaining to utilities and taxes.
Mark obtained his Juris Doctorate from Cleveland Marshall College of Law, and he was formerly admitted to all Courts in the State of Ohio, the Federal District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, and the United States Supreme Court.
Prior to seeking his law degree, Mark attended Marietta College where he earned his B.A. majoring in history. He maintains his strong affinity for history, and greatly enjoys visiting the remnants of our Country’s birth in New England, preservation on the battlefields of the Civil War, and defining patriotism at the Alamo.
Although not a native of Chillicothe, Mark and his wife, to whom he has been married more than half his life, previously made Chillicothe their home and raised their children here.
